Year Old Column That Sheds Some Light On Obama and His relationship With Jeremiah Wright | #3
|
NYT Column Discussing
Barack Hussein Obama's Relationship With Wright and Ties To Islam
"If Barack gets past the primary, he might have to publicly distance himself from me," Mr. Wright said with a shrug. "I said it to Barack personally, and he said yeah, that might have to happen." Somehow that quote seems relevant today, with the news that Barack Obama has distanced himself from Jeremiah Wright. Obama's untimely distancing was made in a qualified, lawyerly fashion. He repudiated "the statements by Rev. Wright that are at issue," and dismissed him from the African American Religious Leadership Committee. One wonders about the timing, since it wasn't news to Obama that his pastor of 20+ years says outrageous things in his sermons. As the New York Times article I linked this morning says: According to the pastor, Mr. Obama then told him, "You can get kind of rough in the sermons, so what we've decided is that it's best for you not to be out there in public." Barack Hussein Obama is not the squeaky clean politician that he claims to be. This column sheds some light on the topic and should begin to open some eyes.

Deconstructing Barack Hussein Obama's lawyerly evasions
on Wright
"By issuing such lawyerly evasions and implausible claims in his statements, Barack Obama treats the American voting public as rubes who can be fooled, a jury that wants to get on with the trial and go home after a quick and painless deliberation focusing only on general impressions. It strains credulity to believe that he never picked up a hint of Wright's vehement hatreds. We don't think he can get away with it. The American public has been schooled by Bill Clinton in the arts of lawyerly evasion on the meaning of the word "is". How ironic that his rival's husband's use of the tool makes it harder for Obama to re-use it. Contrast Senator Obama's pattern of behavior and evasions with McCain's straight talk express perspective. Did Obama think he quelled controversy over Rezko when he stalked out of a news conference when he had let reporters ask their quote of "like 8 questions". How does that square with his calls for transparency and honesty in government?"

Obama's Incredible Denial Concerning His Pastor | #7
|
Obama's Incredible Denial Concerning His Pastor
Barack Hussein Obama has known for many years. It is not credible to think that he could go there for 20 years, donate so much money there, be married by the guy, have him baptize his children, make him a religious counseler on his campaign, claim that he his his mentore fr Heaven's sake...and yet know so little about the guy. These statements, this hateful rhetoric are this guy's MO. I believe Obama has shot his foot clean off over this. If he did know, and he surely did, then he is a liar and complicit with the hate. If he did not know, then his judgement and powers of perception are so pathetically inadequate as to compromise and disqualify him in any case.

Obama Attended Hate America Sermon | #9
|
Barack Hussein Obama Attended Jeremiah Wright Hate America
Sermon
Appearing on cable news shows this past weekend, Obama claimed when he saw recent videos that have Wright making such comments as "God damn America," he was "shocked." Obama implied that the reverend had not used such derogatory language in any of the church services Obama attended over the past two decades. If Obama's claims are true that he was completely unaware that Wright's trademark preaching style at the Trinity United Church of Christ has targeted "white" America and Israel, he would have been one of the few people in Chicago to be so uninformed. Wright's reputation for spewing hate is well known. In fact, Obama was present in the South Side Chicago church on July 22 last year when Jim Davis, a freelance correspondent for Newsmax, attended services along with Obama. [See: "Obama's Church: Cauldron of Division."] In his sermon that day, Wright tore into America, referring to the "United States of White America" and lacing his sermon with expletives as Obama listened. Hearing Wright's attacks on his own country, Obama had the opportunity to walk out, but Davis said the senator sat in his pew and nodded in agreement. Addressing the Iraq war, Wright thundered, "Young African-American men" were "dying for nothing." The "illegal war," he shouted, was "based on Bush's lies" and is being "fought for oil money."

So BHO Did Not Meet With One Racist group To Meet With Another - La Raza | #14
|
Having considered Wright a friend and mentor for two decades, Obama now often mentions that his pastor recently retired. Wright suggested to the New
York Times last year that he and Obama might have to do something of a distancing act in the run up to the election.
"If Barack gets past the primary, he might have to publicly distance himself from me," Wright was quoted by The New York Times. "I said it to Barack personally, and he said, 'Yeah, that might have to happen." Does it matter if me missed one or not? Like other posters on here, I am a member of a religious congregation and if something even slightly entertaining, or humorous, or otherwise of note is mentioned at Sunday services, believe me EVERYONE knows about it within a few days. If something controversial is spoken, it's addressed at the service the very next week, and in the church bulletin etc. and there's a resolution nearly immediately. How about the hundreds of other folks that may actually be regulars in that "church" ? Not a peep out of them as to the evil spewing from that minister of hate? No one spoke up at all? So the smoking gun is not whether or not Obama attended a specific service, but rather the fact that he was a continuing, active, contributing member of a congregation that either 1) sat idly by or 2) gobbled up the vitriol and hate, spewed by that minister. It doesn't matter if he they can't prove that Obama was there for that particular sermon. If they can show that Wright made similar speeches on a regular basis, that's enough to prove that Obama is not being truthful. The issue is that he attended this church for 20 years and supported it with donations. Jeremiah Wright was 'spiritual advisor' to his campaign. I'm quite sure this pastor didn't limit this type of rhetoric to one particular date. If Obama didn't like what the anti-American racist Jeremiah Wright had to say, he'd have left the church. But he didn't Obama believes every word of this venomous rhetoric. He's merely pretending to 'repudiate' it because he knows he could never win the Presidency if he was honest about what he believes.

Of course it freaking matters . . . | #15
|
. . . if he missed the service or not.

The "smoking gun" is that you absolutely DO NOT CARE whether any information that is potentially damaging to Obama (or anyone you do not want to
win) is true or not. To make matters worse, you would actually rather see a damaging lie posted or printed or broadcast than nothing at all. "All lies are
OK as long as they damage my opponent," is your credo. Of course, this has been obvious for years, but never illustrated so cleanly as today.

Barack Hussein Obama Is Done | #17
|
He has been caught in an a lie and is known to rely on a known racist and US-hater, Jeremiah Wright, for guidance in policy issues. Hes done if he does get the
nomination.
Conservatives who do not care for John McCain will now got to the polls in droves if Barack Hussein Obama is the nominee. It will be a huge drubbing. The American people will not forget this lie. Then you have Democrat super delegates who may opt to throw their support to Hillary Clinton, now that Obama has imploded because he lied. Only a hate-filled liberal sees this as anything but trouble for Obama.

You are splitting hairs on whether or not Obama was at the service - guess what, reporters take plenty of license, especially liberal ones. The lie about

It is NOT splitting hairs . . . | #19

. . . when I respond to a post entitled "Obama attends Hate America Sermon" with evidence that he did NOT attend said sermon.
I won't make that mistake again. Just look at the desperation in your party. Desperately wanting Hillary Clinton --- a woman you have reviled for 16 years --- to win the Democratic nomination because you know it's your only chance to win the general election . . . Making an issue out of whether a candidate remembered whether he crossed a Cambodian border 35 years ago . . . making an issue out of selected speeches from a candidate's PASTOR. Have Obama's actions during his 46 years on this earth done ANYTHING to show his "agreement" with the pastor's statements? You think the pastor hates America? Well, I hate being called an "America-hater" and a "traitor". Guess who calls people like me that? YOU and your ilk. You are no better than the pastor. No better whatsoever. You just have different targets for your irrational, blind partisan hate.

BTalley1 wrote: A bunch of errors in that post. Not the first part, of course (your response was certainly not splitting hairs. It was directly relevant to the post you
were responding to.)...it's the followup garbage.
Making an issue out of whether a candidate remembered whether he crossed a Cambodian border 35 years ago John Kerry made that an issue with his 'seared...SEARED into my memory' comments about that border crossing. John Kerry was and is completely full of shitmaking an issue out of selected speeches from a candidate's PASTOR. He was more than just a pastor he sees for an hour on Sunday, then forgets about for 6 days and 23 hours later. Their relationship was much stronger than that, over a 20 year period. He was (is?) his mentor. To pretend, now, that this is all news to him requires that willful suspension of disbelief Hillary likes to talk about. This guy is an enormous problem for Obama if he gets to the general election (as he should be). You think the pastor hates America? He says he does. You think the pastor is a liar? I'll take his word for it. Well, I hate being called an "America-hater" and a "traitor". Guess who calls people like me that? YOU and your ilk. You are no better than the pastor. No better whatsoever. You just have different targets for your hate. Dont be stupid. There is an enormous difference. People of his ilk call you those things occasionally because of your views. Obama's preacher hates you because of your race. You really dont see the difference there? Imagine if the racial roles were reversed here, and try to be honest. Huge problem for Obama. This is what Hillary was laying the groundwork for with Ferraro's comments earlier. Though, in truth, its pretty much the MAD option. These comments are not going to disappear before the general election, if Obama makes it that far. Think the swiftboaters were bad? This will play out much worse to white America....especially when they get in those confidental voting booths. If he DOESNT get to the general, and Hillary does, she is going to alienate half the party in the process. There is a reason John McCain is polling so well recently. I'd still rather Hillary win than either of the other two. I dont trust any of them at all, but at least Hillary is more or less the devil I know (plus, Bill getting a sniff of the white house again has got to be a good thing even if it is just for the entertainment value alone). Awful, awful choices this time around. ![]()
